My boyfriend flew us down to Austin a few weekends ago to check out one of our favorite bands The Black Lips. They played outside of the Mohawk on 9th & Red River on Friday, October 9th. We weren’t sure what to expect, because the lips tend to be unpredictable when they perform, but it was nothing short of awesome. An Atlanta based band who got exposure in the New York Times during the 2007 South by Southwest music festival in Austin in which they played a dozen shows over a three-day period. They proved to us that flying to Austin which is only a 3 hour drive from Dallas, was well worth it.
